About Worm Composting

Vermicomposting or worm composting is the easiest way to recycle food waste and is ideal for people who do not have an outdoor compost pile. Composting with worms avoids the needless disposal of vegetive food wastes and lets you enjoy the benefits of a high quality compost. It is done with special composting worms and can be kept indoors at home, school, or....

What is Composting

Everything that was once alive will decompose when they die. Compost is decomposed organic matter. It is the rich, black crumbly, soil-like substance that is left behind when the organic matter is completely decomposed and the original is no longer discernable.

Recycle you food waste at home

Approximately 50% of household waste and 30% of all the waste we throw away is organic. It could be recycled into a rich fertilizer and used to feed our earth.
Instead we use valuable resources to collect the waste and drop it into landfill – where it becomes harmful to the environment.

In 2016,Singapore generated 791 million kg of food waste!

This is equivalent to about :

2 Bowls of food per person per day.

1,500 Olympic-size swimming pools.

In 2019, we discarded around 200,000 tonnes of disposables.

This is equivalent to about :

400 Olympic-size pools

Or 80 Football fields.

Or 4,000 4-room flats

Why Recycle?

The amount of waste that Singapore disposes of yearly has increased seven-fold in the last 40 years. At this rate, Singapore's only landfill - Semakau Landfill - will run out of space by 2035.
